Following in the footsteps of Quebec, the african continent and Luxembourg, it's time for Italy to take centre stage at the next Révélations biennial.
From Carrara marble to Murano glass, from the semi-precious stones of Florence to the silk of Como and the coral of Naples, Italy has for thousands of years been the cradle of exceptional fine craftsmanship, attracting many architects, designers, collectors and luxury houses.
There are many different fine craft sectors in Italy, as varied as the regions that constitute the country, each with its own specificities and distinct techniques, reflecting its history and culture.
The Révélations biennial shakes things up by presenting the public with exceptional artworks specially created for the occasion. Innovative and astonishing, the unique pieces that will be unveiled reinvent these age-old traditions, combining ancestral know-how with a contemporary vision.
It is also a unique opportunity for Italy to shine a new light on its fine crafts, essential pillars of its economy, image, identity and heritage.
For Révélations, from 21 to 25 May 2025, Italy will be showcasing its tremendous diversity, vivacity and boundless creativity. A chance to rediscover modern Italy, where every detail tells a story of excellence and know-how.
ICE, the Italian Trade Agency, is a partner of the 7th edition of Révélations, the international fine crafts & creation biennial.
Through a delegation of 22 creators in partnership with ICE—the Italian Trade Agency, Italy is shedding new light on its fine crafts—essential pillars of its economy, image, identity and heritage—by revealing their contemporary nature. Like Riccardo Gatti, a true material artist, who transforms marble by bringing it to life, or Atelier Terre by Philip Kron Morelli based in Florence and specialising in hard and semi-precious stone marquetry. Among this selection of creators, some come from other countries but work in their workshops in Italy, such as Karin Putsch Grassi, a renowned German ceramist whose workshop is based in Tuscany, or Jules Vissers, who creates unique textile works in her Taftique workshop in Florence.
ICE - the Italian Trade Agency, together with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Ministry of Culture, are accompanying 22 Italian artisans to be honoured at this edition of Revelations. The mission of ICE is to contribute to the internationalization of Italian companies in foreign markets and to support investors in Italy. Thanks to its network of offices around the world, and the use of innovative promotion and communication tools, ICE promotes the attractiveness of its territory and the image of Italian know-how on the international stage.
